Who we are/What we do

Forgotten Souls Rescue and Rehab is a 501c3 non-profit public charity dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of both domestic and native wildlife species. Our mission is to provide a safe haven for animals in need and to educate the community about wildlife conservation and coexistence.

We are licensed for wildlife rehabilitation in the state of Michigan and are permitted to intake small mammals including raccoon, squirrel, opossum, cottontail and woodchuck.

Although we are NOT able to rehabilitate fawns, birds (including waterfowl and raptors), coyote and fox, we are able to help secure and transport to a fellow rehabber who has the proper permit.

We are a completely foster based rescue for domestic animals. Therefore our ability to take dogs and cats is dependent on having foster homes.

Our Wildlife Approach

At Forgotten Souls Rescue and Rehab, we employ a multi facited approach to wildlife rescue and rehabilitation. We prioritize the physical and emotional well-being of every animal under our care, ensuring that they receive the necessary medical treatment, enrichment, and support for successful reintegration into their natural habitats.

Domestic Rescue

When it comes to rescue as a whole, our main goal is to end the suffering of as many animals as we are able. Suffering can be due to an injury, illness or even the repercussions of gross overpopulation.

We are dedicated to insuring the spay/neuter of every domestic animal that comes into rescue. Our pets come fully vetted with spay/neuter, deworming, age and species appropriate vaccines and microchip.

The most difficult part of domestic rescue is finding the perfect home for every animal. We are dedicated to being completely transparant with potenial adopters about any and all quirks or bad behaviors we have observed while the animal has been in our care. We are in no way  first come first serve with the animals we are adopting out. We do our best to make sure the home is the right fit for both the animal and the family.

Keep in mine, rehoming a pet is extremely hard on them, they grieve the loss of their family. Its truly heartbreaking.

If you adopt an animal, PLEASE give them time and patience to recover from past traumas!

If you are thinking of giving up your animal PLEASE do everything in your power to fix the problem and make it work. All rescues and shelters are having a terrible time keeping up with the amount of homeless pets right now! Please reach out if you need help or advice.

PLEASE FIX YOUR PETS!
